The Church of the Damned, whose disciples are called the Children of the Damned, is a divine reminder of our sinful consumption. We are the Children of the Damned, those who came before us dammed the Earth’s natural systems for their own benefit at the expense of all. We have been damned to an existence of sinful complacency to our own destruction. We have been damned to think of the coming apocalypse as normal, as unstoppable. The Church of the Damned calls on its children to sit with this guilt, to reconsider their actions, to speak about these injustices.
